Ammanford Tesco needed to replace pipework from an existing carbon system which had been badly corroded due to the external environment. Intoheat, the appointed contractor, had encountered this issue many times before.
The heating mains was located on the store’s roof, meaning the replacement system had to cope with the ambient outside conditions as the previous system had started to leak in many places. The existing carbon system ranged from 40mm to 88.9mm and after discussion between all parties, Aquatechnik’s Safety system was the preferred replacement due to its increased flow rates and resistance to external conditions when compared to other materials/systems. Due to the patented flared fittings not reducing the bore of the pipe, the system only needed to go to 75mm as a direct replacement.
The Safety system was installed successfully, on time and within budget while presenting minimal disruption to the store and its customers. With a 25-year warranty and pressures up to 10 bar and 70c, the WRAS-approved multilayer system by Aquatechnik has ensured that Tesco’s customers and staff alike have no problems for the foreseeable future.
