In addition to ensuring an increase in flow rates of approximately 40% compared to other multi-layer connection systems, Aquatechnik’s Safety-Plus system guarantees an average energy saving of 60% and a significant reduction in recorded noise levels.
Aquatechnik’s multi-layer pipe has a smooth internal surface with a low roughness that poses little resistance to hot and cold fluid flow. This also makes it less likely to form deposits, which can reduce flow rates over time. These factors allow higher water speeds in distribution networks without the negative consequences that can arise in metal pipes (turbulence, noise, flow rate reduction and erosion).
The polymeric components of The Safety-Plus system were created using multi-layer technology with the same insulation as metal, resulting in reduced heat loss and increased energy efficiency in installations. In addition, the patented system ensures a significant reduction in pressure drops, favouring both energy savings (as circulation pumps can operate at reduced speeds) and a considerable reduction in associated noise.
Pipelines for domestic hot water or heating
The regulatory standards on energy saving provide useful information for calculating minimum insulation thicknesses, which depend on the insulation’s material, the pipeline’s size, and the type of system being installed.
Pipes for domestic cold or chilled water
Insulation in this type of system keeps the water at a constant temperature and limits any possible return heat flows to prevent the formation of surface condensation. Concealed pipelines or those installed externally may be influenced by environmental changes in temperature or humidity. The type and thickness of the insulation used should therefore be checked to prevent the possible formation of condensation. This depends on the individual installation conditions (air temperature, relative humidity and temperature of the fluid conveyed). Thermal conductivities of pipelines are shown on the respective technical data sheets.
A multi-layer WRAS approved system up to 75mm with patented fittings which have excellent flow characteristics, reducing the pressure required to achieve the required flow rate, often with reduced noise pollution over other pipe technologies.
